Outfit of the Day: Neon Tiger

Sweater: Urban Behaviour; Tank Top: Forever 21; Leggings: Stitches; Boots: Wal-Mart

I wore this outfit last weekend to go shopping in the states. The pictures do not even show the awesome neon coral colour of this sweater. I bought it at the end of last winter, and it's definitely I'm going to get lots of wear out of this year. The leggings are also some of my favourites because they're lined with fleece. So warm and comfy!

Outfit of the Day: Sheer

Sheer Top: Urban Behaviour; Tank Top: Forever 21; Shorts: Urban Planet; Socks: Forever 21; Boots: Wal-Mart

I wore this outfit out last weekend to have drinks with a friend. I was super excited to pull out my knee-high socks and boots! Fall dressing is definitely my favourite. This top is definitely a new favourite of mine as well - I have so many ideas of ways to wear it. :D

Nail of the Day: Subtle Metallics

On my nails are China Glaze's "Hook and Line" underneath a coat of "Fast Track", both from the Hunger Games collection. Both of these colours are sort of metallicy, but Hook and Line is more of a silvery metal colour, while Fast Track is a bit more champagne/gold. I really love the way layering the two turns out, it's a very unique colour!

By the way, please ignore my messy fingers. I clearly didn't clean up my nails very well before I took this picture, haha. :)

Outfit of the Day: Batwing

Top: Forever 21; Lace Tank & Leggings: Stitches; Bracelets & Earrings: Forever 21; Boots: Payless

I am very aware of the fact that I wear animal print far too often. I don't feel bad! It's my favourite, haha. Anyway, I wore this outfit to go out clubbing last weekend. I was super excited by the fact that I could wear boots, since it's September now! Boots are by far my favourite type of footwear. I am very happy that we are having a good fall so far - it's cooler but still warm enough to wear things like shorts and sweaters. Perfect. :)

Product Review: NYC Sun 'n' Bronze Bronzing Powder in "Fire Island Tan"

NYC was one of the first make-up brands I ever used. I'm talking back to when I was 12-13 and just started playing with make-up. It didn't take me very long to realize that it really wasn't very good stuff and there was much better quality available. After this realization, I hated NYC stuff for a long time.

Until recently! I noticed a lot of beauty vloggers and bloggers reviewing NYC stuff lately, and figured it was worth another shot. The brand is still super cheap, so why not? Even if the products are a let-down, at least I didn't spend much on it.

Anyway, enough rambling, onto the product I'm reviewing! This is the NYC Sun 'n' Bronze Bronzing Powder in the shade "Fire Island Tan", which I got from Wal-Mart for about $4.50.

There are 3 shades of colour in this bronzer - 2 medium shades and 1 dark one. This is definitely on the darker side of the spectrum of bronzers, and I wouldn't recommend it for people with fairer skin tones. I probably won't be able to wear it anymore once my tan fades. I really do love this bronzer though. It has great colour pay-off and is great for contouring. I only wish I'd bought it earlier in the season so I could have used it all summer!

As you can see, this does have great pigmentation. Like I said though, it's pretty dark and it might even look orangey on lighter skin tones. However, this product does come in different shades, and the  "Hamptons Radiance" shade looks like it would be good for paler skin. I might have to buy it for the winter months. ;)

Anyway, I'm very glad I decided to give NYC another chance! Now I just have to check out some of their other products.

Nail of the Day: Fall Transition

How great is this colour?! It's "Orange Fix" by Maybelline Color Show. I feel like this colour is perfect for this time of year. Orange is a very 'autumn' colour, but it's super bright, very reminiscent of the bright neons that were popular this summer. As I'm not quite ready to move into darker colours for fall yet, I feel like this is the perfect transition nail colour.

I also want to rave for a minute about how great Maybelline Color Show nail polishes are. This is the second colour I've bought and I'm just so impressed! They sell for about $2.75 at Wal-Mart, and for such a cheap price I didn't expect much of these polishes. But they only take 2 coats for an opaque finish, and they also dry SUPER fast. The forumlation is just great! Love love love.

Outfit of the Day: Classy Leopard

Leopard Top & Belt: International; Lace Top: Stitches; Shorts: Dynamite; Sandals: Payless

I wore this outfit out the other night for my friend's birthday dinner at an Italian pizzeria. I had white zinfandel wine, chicken and pesto pizza, and a slice of nutella and banana pizza for dessert. Oh my gosh, so delicious!

Anyway, enough about the food. I love this top, and the way it can easily be dressed up or down! These shorts are also some of my favourites. They have a 'leather look' to them, but they are actually really stretchy and super comfy. I am very sad to see the end of shorts season approaching. Shorts are most definitely my favourite items of clothing!

Product Review: Maybelline 'the Mega Plush' Volum Express Mascara

It's been a while, girls (& guys?)!

I know. I have been horrible at updating my blog. But now that school is back in, and I haven't gone back to school, I should hopefully have more time for my blog again. It's funny how that happens - you think you'll have loads more time in the summer, but it really just doesn't happen.

Anyway! I'm back with a mascara review, one that I promised a long time ago! This is the Maybelline 'the Mega Plush' Volum' Express mascara in Blackest Black.

I am a big fan of Maybelline mascaras, so I had to try this one out. I really like the wand, which is rounded but tapers off towards the end. The size of the brush is reasonable large, but definitely not the largest I've ever seen - I've had no issues with application because the brush is too big. The wand also has a little groove just before the brush begins, and I guess this is kind of supposed to give the brush the ability to swivel. I'm not sure if this really makes a difference in application, but it doesn't make things more difficult, either.

I really like the way this mascara looks on the lashes. It isn't super volumizing, but it does a good job of making your lashes stand out. It's also somewhat lengthening, and does a great job of separating the lashes. The end result is a bit spidery, which I like, but if you're not a fan of that look then this mascara might not be the one for you.

The one thing I don't like is that I couldn't find a waterproof version of this mascara, which is something I definitely look for in a mascara. Don't want any running going on! But other than that, this is a really good product and I recommend it for an everyday look.
