Product Review: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in "Frisky"

This is the blush I showed you in my last haul. I've been using it for just over a week now, and so far, I am very impressed, and very glad that I decided to splurge and buy it.

"Frisky" is a bright mauve-pink that, in my opinion, mimics the flush one gets from being out in the cold. In the pan it looks very glittery, but on the cheeks it looks more like a shimmer. The blush also has slight gold undertones to it.

This blush is incredibly pigmented. It took me a little bit of practice in order to not apply too much. It is very easy to end up looking like a clown if you don't use a light hand and a good blush brush. I use elf's Studio Blush Brush, which I find works very well to apply the blush lightly and evenly. The result is gorgeous and I've been wearing it every day!

This colour seems perfect for winter to me, but come spring, I think I'm definitely going to want to purchase some different blush colours from Tarte. Have you tried any of Tarte's blushes? What do you think of them?

Mini Haul: Nail Polish & Make-Up

After Christmas, I decided to use some of my Christmas money for some new nailpolishes. So yes, I've had these for a while, but I haven't shown them yet. I bought these off of NailPolishCanada.com - definitely one of my favourite places to buy nail polishes. My inspiration to buy these colours in particular was that I wanted some more "wintery" colours.

The second set of things I have to show you are from Sephora. It might be silly, but one of the things I was super excited about when moving here to Toronto was that there is a Sephora close by. It was one of the first places I went! I wanted to buy a lot more, but seeing as I don't have a job yet, I thought it probably wouldn't be the best idea to spend all my money on make-up immediately.

My main reason for going into the store was definitely to buy the setting spray. Since I've started using the stuff about a year and a half ago, it's definitely become a must-have for me; a holy-grail product, if you will. I wasn't going to buy anything else but I saw the Tarte blushes and just had to have one after swatching them. I chose Frisky because it was the perfect middle ground between girly pink and a darker plum.

The free sample was nice to get too! I've already used it up, and it ended up being a great moisturizer. Very floral smelling but I guess that's to be expected from the name.

My New Apartment

So, as I've been mentioning in every post for probably 2 months now, I've just recently moved from Windsor to Toronto to pursue a career in editing. I just moved into my new apartment on Friday, and I thought I'd show you all my cozy little apartment! This is not a beauty post, nor a fashion post, but like I mentioned in my New Year's post, I'd like to direct this blog more into a Lifestyle direction - still of course including Beauty & Fashion, but incorporating other things as well. Speaking of, I need to change my header. Do any of you know someone who could design me a cute new header for free?

Anyway, on to the photos! Please try to picture the place without all the boxes, because I've actually unpacked most of those since I took these photos, haha. :)

This is my main living room area - couch, TV, bookshelves, desk & computer. Everything fit a lot better in here than I thought it would! 

Nail of the Day: Greige Glitter

Hello everyone! I am now moved into my new apartment in Toronto! There will be a post about that coming up in the near future, but for now I just wanted to share a quick nail of the day. I don't know what it is about crackle nail polishes but I really do love them, even if they are hard to work with sometimes. Here, I'm wearing Essie "Merino Cool" as a base, and the crackle coat is China Glaze "Latticed Lilac". I got a set of three glitter crackle coats for Christmas - this one, a light blue, and a pink one - and they're just so gorgeous!

Now that I'm settling into my new apartment, I've got lots more posts coming soon, so keep checking back! :)

Hello everyone, and happy new year! It is now 2013, and although I didn't blog at all throughout December, I am vowing now to start blogging regularly again. However, I've been thinking about my blog a lot lately, and the direction I want to take it in. I lost some motivation to blog recently, and I want to get it back. I will still obviously blog about beauty and fashion, because they are some of my absolute favourite things. However, I think I might turn this into an all-around lifestyle type blog, including posts about food, music, movies, and more personal type things as well. Definitely let me know what you think about this idea and whether you like it or not!

I apologize if my posts are somewhat sporadic and messy for the next month or two while I'm getting my ideas for my blog organized; I am also moving 4 hours away in a week and that will also be a huge upheaval. So please forgive me until I get settled. However, I also want to record that whole process here as well, so I hope that is something you'd be interested in seeing. I'm moving from my little town to Toronto to persue a career in publishing/editing and this will all be a huge adventure. It would be nice if you girls/guys would want to take that adventure with me.

So, I was about to take a bunch of pictures of things so I'd have a lot to blog about in the next month or so. But my camera battery is dead, and it appears that I've lost my charger. I don't know if I accidentally packed it away, or if it's just gone. But it any case, this means I can't blog for a while. I might do some phone pictures, but they never turn out well.

Sorry guys. I am super upset about this right now, irrationally so really. Not having my camera for Christmas is also pretty terrible. :(

November Top Box

I got my first Beauty Box subscription this month, a TopBox!

 Unfortunately, it saddens me, but it's also going to be my last one for a while. I'm saving up all my money for moving to Toronto, and even $12 counts. Anyway, I was really excited by the things I got in my box, and still wanted to share.

The first thing that really excited me from this box was a full-size China Glaze polish! The colour is Exotic Encounters from the On Safari collection. It's a lot more green than the picture shows, and is really gorgeous for this time of year. I've already worn it & I love it.

The second product that I was SO excited about was a sample of Benefit's "They're Real" mascara. I've been wanting to try this for a while. It really does live up to expectations, making your lashes so long and lush.

The third product in the box was Cuccio Naturale Butter Blend in the scent Pomegranite & Fig. I'm not too sure about the scent of this - at first I thought it was nice but then I thought it smelled funny, lol. It is really moisturizing though, and feels really nice on dry winter skin.

Last thing is this Roberto Cavalli perfume. I haven't really worn it yet but it smells nice and there's a pretty decent amount included for a sample.
